US, Russia ties 'stand on their own merit' despite Ukraine war, says junior foreign minister Meenakshi Lekhi

Minister of state for external affairs Meenakshi Lekhi, on Thursday told Parliament that India's relations with US and Russia "stand on their own merit". Lekhi was replying to a query whether Ukraine and Russia's month-long war had affected ties. "India has called for immediate cessation of hostilities and return to the path of diplomacy and dialogue with respect to the conflict in Ukraine," she added in her statement in the House.
