Girls Just Want to Have Fun Remake in the Works, Elizabeth Banks to Produce

Next up to get the reboot treatment in Hollywood is the comedy Girls Just Want to Have Fun. Per THR, it's been reported that a remake of the 1985 movie is in the works at Village Roadshow. Elizabeth Banks is on board to produce alongside Max Handelman for Brownstone Productions. It's also been revealed that Marja-Lewis Ryan (The L Word: Generation Q) is co-writing the screenplay with Generation Q staff writer Allie Romano. Alison Small is executive producing for Brownstone. A director hasn't yet been named.
